The following installation guide we take you through the installation of your new ALPHAREX HEADLIGHTS for your 2021-23 Toyota GR86 | Subaru BRZ step by step.

NOTE: Some vehicle require the DRL harness installed for the headlight to function properly.

Do NOT use dielectric or any type of weather sealing grease on connectors or sockets.
Doing so will result in connection problems and will not be covered under warranty. Please click HERE for further explanation.

INSTALLATION TOOLS

Size NEEDED

NOTE: Whenever using a power tool, please make sure do not overtighten the screws.

PART I - REMOVE HEADLIGHTS

DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Whenever working on your vehicle always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal.

REMOVE THE FRONT BUMPER

Remove the 4 X 10mm bolts and 3 mounting taps on the upper part of the front bumper.

Take off the plastic cover piece.

Use the panel popper to remove the 3 mounting taps from each side of the front wheel well.

Next, detach the mounting clips located at each corner of the lower underside of the front bumper.

Once the clips have been removed, carefully and gently pull outward from the edge of the bumper to loosen it. Similarly, repeat the process on the other side.

Continue to gently loosen it until you have created enough space to access the headlights bolts.

REMOVE THE HEADLIGHT BOLTS AND CLIPS

Remove the 9 X 10mm bolts and 3 X mounting clips from the headlight assembly.
Please follow the same steps for the other side.

REMOVE THE HEADLIGHTS

Once all the headlight bolts and mounting clips have been removed, exercise caution as you pull the headlight bracket gently outward towards you to detach it.
Please set it aside for later re-installation.

Subsequently, proceed to remove the headlights with care by pulling them gently outward towards yourself. Don’t forget to unplug the headlights’ connector as you proceed.

Please follow the same steps for the other side of the headlights.

PART II - INSTALL HEADLIGHTS

TAP THE FUSE AND ROUTE THE DRL HARNESS

In order for the DRL to function properly, you will need to tap the fuses and route the harness.

Locate the Fuse box from the passenger’s side engine bay and open the cover.

First, tap the GRAY fuse wire into the FUSE IG2 (7.5A)

Next, tap the RED fuse wire into the FUSE D FL DOOR (25A)

Once you’ve completed tapping into the fuses, securely close the fuse box and continue by routing the DRL wire harness.

Grounding the black wire to the body or directly to negative battery lead.

Route the DRL wire towards the other side of the headlights.

TRANSFER THE HEADLIGHT BRACKETS

Transfer the existing headlight brackets to the new ALPHAREX headlights by aligning the mounting holes.

PLUG AND INSTALL THE HEADLIGHTS

Initiate the procedure by first connecting the plug of the headlight, followed by attaching the DRL
connector and the turn signal connector. PLEASE DO NOT USE DIELECTRIC GREASE!
